Netflix is my personal trainer. It's glorious - let me explain.

First I tried to read magazines at the gym but that didn't motivate me enough to get out of bed.

So I thought about what would make me get out of bed to go to the gym.

Answer: One Tree Hill.

That's where Netflix comes in. All of One Tree Hill is on there and I've been watching it very slowly. I love it but I haven't dedicated two days to just blaze through. I'm savoring each episode because I've never actually seen them.

So boom. I decided to watch OTH at the gym on Netflix. Then I just had to figure out how to do that. Since I have a gym in my building, and now we have WiFi in there I thought about getting an iPad.

Given how expensive they are I just bought this instead.

And put my laptop on it.

And reveled in my genius status.

This morning I got out of bed when my alarm went off at 6:50. And I was excited to go work out with Lucas and Nathan. It was an amazing feeling. ANNNNND I am extra happy because it's been two days in May and I've worked out both of them. Slowly getting back into a groove but I'm making good choices and that's what counts.

  2. Genius, indeed! I was a huuuuuge (HUGE) "One Tree Hill" fan in high school, but I sort of petered out as the cast got older and the regulars left. I'm very curious to see how everything wrapped up, though, and I absolutely loved Nathan and Lucas once upon a time! Ah, I'm feeling the nostalgia today. :) And good on you for getting to the gym -- whatever works!

  3. That is seriously the best thing ever! Some of the machines have little places that can hold things like your phone, but they are often too small for anything else. I try to run outside and such, but when it is cold or really late I stay inside and it is so hard to stay motivated! I'm glad you found something that works for you!

  4. Oh my! What a great idea! Rachael Ray was my personal trainer a couple of years ago. I loved her show and I would go to the gym at 11am when it was on. ;)

  8. Such a smart idea! I always try to think up creative ideas of how to get more done in the morning before work. Usually it turns out I'd have to be out of bed around 4:30am to work out / enjoy before work, cause right now I wake up at 5:45am daily. Yuck! Thanks for the added motivation :)
